Intro to Cornering and Climbing

Friday, Sept. 1st - 2:00pm - 4:00pm (Meet @ Festival Registration Tent)

Who’s This Clinic For? I have a hard time judging how fast I should be going into corners, especially if they have berms. When climbing, I have trouble getting up and over obstacles.

What Trails Will We Focus On? TBD

What Will I Learn? Instructor Stacy Wells will teach this co-ed clinic on establishing excellent bike-body position through flat corners (which leads to better cornering on berms). She’ll teach he anatomy of a corner and the fundamentals on prep, entry, exit plus efficient climbing techniques.

Next Level Cornering

Friday, Sept. 1st - 2:00pm - 4:00pm (Meet @ Festival Registration Tent)

Who’s This Clinic For? I can safely ride all of the green and blue trails on the mountain, but I often have to brake in the corners to stay on the trail.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Otter Slide, Nice Marmot

What Will I Learn? Instructors Darran Wells and Lindsay Nohl will help you take your cornering to the next level. You’ll learn and practice body position variations and speed modulation for faster bermed and flat corners, plus learn techniques on pumping through berms to gain speed.

Who’s This Clinic For? I confidently ride any green trails, but my tires rarely leave the ground on purpose.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Drop Zone, Bring it on Home, Chutes & Ladders

What Will I Learn? Instructors Darran and Stacy Wells will take participants through timing lips and bump jumps, estimating take off speed, safe and predictable landings, plus cover the anatomy of a drops and jumps (why are they built that way??).

Women's Fundamentals

Who’s This Clinic For? “I’m a more beginner or easy intermediate rider and I’ve never gotten any skills coaching before. I just go out and ride and sort of figure it out as I go.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Bring it on Home

What Will I Learn? Instructor Lindsay Nohl will cover bike body separation, body position, trail scanning, pressure control, braking fundamentals.

Who’s This Clinic For? I can safely ride all of the green and blue trails on the mountain, I can bunny hop on the flats and can ride bermed corners but am not quite confident enough to try more technical features.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Sidewinder, Rock Garden

What Will I Learn? Instructors Darran Wells and Lindsay Nohl will help you take your bike park skills quiver up a notch. You’ll learn and practice body position variations and speed modulation for riding more advanced (blue/black) bike park trails.

Who’s This Clinic For? I can safely ride all of the blue and green trails on the mountain. I can bunny hop on the flats and roll through rock gardens but I often come up short and land on top of the table tops when I try to jump in the park.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Drop Zone, Chutes & Ladders, Sidewinder

What Will I Learn? Instructors Darran and Stacy Wells will work with you to learn to ride the features as they were designed. You’ll work through progression for estimating take off speed, purposeful pops, bike handling in the air and controlled landings.

Who’s This Clinic For? I like riding intermediate or advanced technical trails at a bike park and want to dial in my riding and take it to the next level.

What Trails Will We Focus On? Sticks & Stones

What Will I Learn? Instructor Lindsay Nohl will teach body position for downhill riding, braking in high speed corners and line selection when riding your favorite bike park.

Technical Maneuvers

Sunday, Sept. 3rd - 10:00am - 12:00pm (Meet @ Festival Registration Tent)

Who’s This Clinic For? I can ride green or blue trails but I rarely get my wheels off the ground. When climbing I have trouble getting up and over obstacles. When descending, I could use additional techniques to ride smoother and more in control.

What Trails Will We Focus On? This clinic will take place in a large dirt lot and the mini skills park.

What Will I Learn? Instructor Lindsay Nohl will review body position, cover front and rear wheel lifts, pedal wheelies, rolling off small rock drops and manuals – plus a whole lot more!.

Meet Our Instructors

Stacy Wells

Bike Handling, Fundamentals, Bike Park Skills

Stacy has been mountain biking for 30 years and teaching professionally since 2012. She specializes in empowering ladies and youth to grow their confidence by crushing technical single track and fast descents. She’s Level 1 certified with BICP and Level 1 with PMBIA bike instructor curricula and has led bike clinics for: Pedal Militia, the NORCO Dirt Series and Central Wyoming College. Stacy is no stranger to festival clinics and has worked at both the Wydaho Rendezvous and Jurassic Classic bike festivals. When she is not camping in Whistler or Moab, she also creates upcycled bike tire jewelry and teaches painting with a glass of wine in hand.

Lindsay Nohl

Bikepacking, Fundamentals, Advocacy

Lindsay is a current PMBIA certified mountain bike coach who owns her own mountain bike coaching business in the Tetons called Dirt Town Adventures. She coaches part-time for Ladies AllRide and Dirt Series mountain bike skills camps and works as a certified life coach for her own business Lindsay Nohl Coaching. Her passion for mountain biking took off in 2013 while living in Tucson, Arizona. She loves the physical nature of mountain biking and how the sport is a combination of endurance, strength, technique, and flat-out grit. Lindsay believes that mountain biking is beneficial for both physical and mental health and that it’s a direct avenue to overcome fears and build both community and confidence. Her favorite outdoor adventures are long bikepacking trips and races in the desert southwest.

Robin Lyons

Stronger on the Bike

Strength Coaching for over 20 years Coach Lyons is the founder and owner of MTN LAB Performance Coaching in Driggs, ID. She is the visionary and educator behind MTN LABs mission and coaching services. Robin is inspired to evolve the fitness industry through higher level coaching practices with a holistic approach. She believes optimal health and performance is found when the body, mind and soul are aligned. 

Additionally Robin is a mountain bike coach w/ Ladies Allride and has developed Stronger on the Bike Program for riders who are looking to improve their riding experience!

Darran Wells

Bike Handling, Bike Park Skills

Darran is the Professor of Outdoor Education for Central Wyoming College in Lander, WY. He has been working professionally in outdoor education since 1999 and teaching mountain bike skills courses and clinics since 2009. After years as a competitive adventure racer, Darran switched to riding DH trails and resorts in 2011. He has been a BICP Level 2 Instructor since 2014. Darran and his wife, Stacy, manage the college’s Alpine Science Institute which features 5 miles of mountain bike optimized trails where, they teach bike clinics, courses, and summer camps for all ages and abilities. Darran also teaches MTB trail construction. In October, he worked on the H5 build crew for 2021 Redbull Rampage.

Emilee Morse

Morning Yoga

Emilee started practicing yoga 15 years ago and instantly fell in love. She completed teacher training in California in 2013 and began teaching in Jackson in 2020. She has studied Eastern Philosophy for 12 years and in her classes, students will get to experience that knowledge through breath-work, meditation, and movement. Her style is essentially quite gentle, teaching students how to calm and focus the mind. Her classes are also creative and fun, allowing for a playful sort of practice that demonstrates the ways in which we might invite that playfulness into our daily lives.

Leah Ronnow

Morning Yoga

Leah began her journey with yoga over 20 years ago as cross-training for an already active lifestyle of skiing, hiking and biking. Initially drawn to the physical practice of yoga, it was the spiritual and emotional aspect of the practice that changed her life. Merging aspects of Anusara, Power, and Forrest, she taken the tools she’s learned to create her own athletic style of teaching blended with a deeply healing experience. She also offers somatic energy work, womb healing and emotional clearing.Leah studied at Inbody Academy under D’ana Baptiste. In 2012, she completed her first 200 hour teacher training and fell in love. She went on to complete an advanced Forrest teacher training under Ana Forrest. Wanting to give more of the emotional and somatic healing benefits back to her community, she continued her studies to complete an additional 500 hours of yoga therapy to offer private yoga therapy in conjunction with talk therapy under the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has taught in hospitals, wellness centers, schools, as well as ski lodges and the top of mountains. She believes all humans can benefit from yoga and is always looking for opportunities to expand her reach.

Britta Berube

Stronger on the Bike

Britta has been coaching and guiding professionally since 2019. She is PIMBA and BICP certified. She has an innate passion for helping others cultivate their love for the outdoors. She built a mountain bike program for at-risk youth and enjoys pushing herself in her favorite bike races. She coaches part time for Ladies All Ride and Sedona Mountain Bike Academy.

She is dedicated to helping others build confidence, challenge their comfort zone, and develop strong foundational mountain bike skills. Britta spends her summers in the Teton Valley and winters in Sedona, AZ.

Joe Stone

Adaptive MTB Skills, Advocacy

Joe Stone has been playing the wheelchair game for about 11 years after sustaining a spinal cord injury at the c7 level while speed flying in Montana. He has been very passionate about getting back to the outdoors both for himself and to open inclusive outdoor opportunities for people with disabilities. In 2013, Joe partnered with Teton Adaptive and TVTAP to help make the Wydaho Rendezvous accessible to adaptive mountain biking. Through collaboration, the obstacles that came up have been tackled, turning this event into a well-oiled machine that welcomes everyone. The biproduct of this work has been the acknowledgement that inclusion creates a stronger community, which is a value that Joe strongly holds onto. Fast forward eight years, Joe is now the Director of Mission at Teton Adaptive and the Wydaho Rendezvous has turned into the largest adaptive mountain bike gathering in the world. Joe has been teaching adaptive mountain bike lessons for both downhill and cross country and he is very dedicated to helping individuals build their confidence, expand their skills, and making sure people are smiling at the end of the day.
